Button Floozies Fall Swap ... come on - join in its going to be fun :)

If you follow button floozies or not now is the time to join in a really fun fall themed button swap. If you click the link over in my sidebar you will be directed to button floozies where you can enter too ..


Here uis the lowdown on what we will be doing .. right im off to sort through my button tin .. Oh the joy :)


The Fall in Love with Buttons Swap is one-to-one; that is, each participant will be paired up with a swap partner.  We will each alter an Altoids tin, filling it with autumn colored or autumn themed buttons, and send it to our partner!

The buttons:

• Use any buttons you love for the swap -- they need not be new and they need not be vintage.  You might want to do some of both.
• As aforementioned, the theme is "Fall" so that means colors you associate with the season: yellows, oranges, greens, browns, reds, etc.  Buttons can be shaped like leaves, acorns, baskets, scarecrows, ETC.  Try to include your most interesting and delightful, quality buttons!
• Please be sure to send a minimum of 40 buttons in your tin!  You can include more if they fit, but the tin should be full, and still able to close snugly. 

• How to participate:
• Email me at buttonfloozies@gmail.com by Friday, September 23, 2011, with the following information: your name, your mailing address, your blog address if you have one, and whether or not you would be willing to swap internationally
• I will email you the name of your partner on Saturday, September 24, 2011.
• Complete your swap, photograph it, and get it in the mail to your partner on or before Friday, October 21, 2011
• After you hear from your swap partner that they've received it, visit the Flickr site I've created, Button Floozies Swap, and upload the photos you took of your swap so we can all see!

Back to Blogging !

Hi bloggers, well i have not blogged for months, for many reasons really, work commitments, illness, school holidays, summer holidays, christenings, weddings and funerals... yes we've had them all.!!. Having said all that i have managed to still sew and craft away a little - not as much as i would have liked but i am determined to get some projects finished this weekend as its the first in many weeks that i have had no commitments on :) And seeing as i have a stall at the Super Duper Fair at the Winter Gardens in November i really need to get projects finished and ticked off the many lists that are piling up ...


First on my list is finishing the dining room chairs. I purchased a pine farmhouse table and 4 chairs from eBay that really needed attention... :) but i really wanted to get my teeth into sanding the top down as it was so marked, the previous owners had put hot pans directly down on the table top .. gasp... so as you can imagine it was covered in white rings and burn marks. Well i offered £45, it was accepted and she come home with us ...yay.. then the work began, within an evening i have sanded and filled the table top and she was then given 2 coats of stain .. she looks lovely now. My intention was to paint the legs a cotton white but at the moment the remain a pine stain. The chairs needed re-covering and as i am trying not to spurge to much at the moment i covered them in some Cath Kidston Rosali.. my intention was to paint the chairs cotton white also... i think i might still do this one day ... I then purchased 4 chairs from the CS that kind of match but these were horrendous - slashed, stained, a little stinky and one had a broken leg, but for £3 i took them. Now they have been sanded filled fixed cleaned and re-covered in Rosali Blue, with painted Cotton White chairs they look rather lovely :)...


I will upload the pictures in the next day or two, as i am sitting in the dark at the moment just relaxing with a glass of wine while my son is watching red or black ...!! Here are just a few of what she did look like !

Finealy if the weather keeps up i have spied a rather lovely pair of welly boots, and i really need them lol ... Oh the joy :)

Where have i been ...

Hi bloggers ... my goodness its been a while ... much has happened in the household of recent weeks ..
But now its time to get back on track ..

From dementia to illness from the oldies and the litluns weve had it all ... even slipped disks!! But touch wood this week has been ok so far..  All we need now is the weather its rain rain rain here in Lancashire today YUK .. Well i feel like i am on it again now - back into the weight loss and fitness program i have been trying hard the past 3 weeks and have lost 9lbs so far and now weigh 10st 3lbs .. i will be happy at another 14lb down .. fingers crosssed but i do not intend to kill myself trying - its all healthy living from now on :)

The poor sewing machine has been waiting for me .. i have dusted her off and intend to get sewing this week, i have a few Cath Kidston totes to finish off and some pin pots that i started and yet to finish ! along with ten other items or so. Off to work this afternoon but have managed to bake a Quorn sheppards pie and a pile of veggies for tea when i get home this evening. . yummy !! 

I just checked my email and looked what was sat there ...

Well what a lovely morning i have had, yes it was year 3&4's school play of are you ready ... dun dun dun .. The Lion King .. And wowzers trousers it was fab fab fab .. my little Hyena was the best and boy did he look proud to see his mummy grandma and grandad sat on the first row waving away , i felt quiet emotional, and do so even now writing this...kids eh?

So i have beed doing the folksy April Show-ers and have been listing an item a day, so todays is some of my lovely bakers twine.. in scrummy Cherry Red Apple Green and Aqua Blue .. i will add it on here later as i am just going to list in a minute on folksy..

So we had a lovely afternoon, the litluns had tea, played, we

went for a walk in the sunshine and had a ice cream. Took her home and then my litlun remembered that he had to take a decorated easter egg to school tomorow ... Sigh ... so we made this ...

 

 

LOL i think it turned out great .. hope the teacher likes it .. so for me i am off to bed now i am shattered !!

Well off went the Litlun this morning dressed as a Ninja for Red Nose Day, we passed some very strange and imaginative looking Litluns this morning all dressed up and raising money for  Red Nose Day 2011...


So managed to get some more Cath Kidston Totes finished off this morning, I'm loving the mini totes in blue i think i may have to make a few more that size .. soo cute !!

L O V I N G  Adele 21 at the moment, i wasn't too keen when i first heard the album, but it is playing constantly in our home at the moment ...  :) I think our neighbours must be sick of it by now !

My lillies are coming on great i must plant them into their bigger pots at the weekend, i must say though they seem to love it in their ice cream tub and sawdust shavings ..

The Gladioli are just springing out of the soil too :)

Well off to work this afternoon, cant wait to finish this evening it has been a really busy week, i am constantly crafting, bagging up buttons, beads, notelet's, and sewing for all the up and coming craft fairs, as well as working, cooking, and all the cleaning that goes with it .. Im sure it will all be worth it in the end :s

Lots of buttons bagged and ready for new homes ... buy me buy me :)
